Healthy Potato Wedges Using Airfryer

 

Think Philips airfryer and the photo of a pure white airfryer with some yummy-looking golden glistening fries peeping out of the basket would appear on my mind. The Philips airfryer has always been advertised as an healthy alternative to creating great tasting fried food with 80% less fat. Intrigued by this, I decided to try it out myself one afternoon.

Recipe
Yield: One bowl of potato wedges

Ingredients
300g potatoes, equivalent to 4 small potatoes (russet potatoes recommended)
1 tbs oil
seasoning to taste (a dash of pepper and/or belachan would be nice!)
Directions

1. Preheat air fryer at 180 degrees for 5 min.

2. Wash the potatoes clean and cut evenly into thin wedges.

3. Soak the potato wedges in warm water for at least 30 min. Drain and pat dry with kitchen paper.

3. Coat potato wedges with oil in a bowl.  Mix well with seasoning.

   
4. Airfry at 180 degrees for 15 min. Continue at 160 degrees for 10 min. Open every 5 min to shake to prevent burns.

Enjoy! Here are your very own potato wedges. 

Verdict: Yes, this is a really good machine for transforming plain old potatoes into a healthy afternoon snack. No need to go out to MacDonalds, and of course no more processed frozen food with bad oils! :)

Wendy Sim from has since made her own potato wedges using this recipe. She didn't manage to do it previously but has now succeeded using these timings. Lovely!
